Gear is good!

Cameras today are doing everything from GPS, HDR rendeing to tweeting and Facebooking.. I will not take this time to talk about artistry but rather gear because the gear allows us to actualize the concepts that arise from our conscious.

Just came from the CES show in Las Vegas and the amount of diversity that is in our shortly to arrive future is astounding. 3D from a single lense, cameras with 360 video attached to your cellphone. Medium format size prints from DSLRs, Simply amazing

On the software side I witnessed demonstration of out of focus shots being brought into focus. Printing on metal, plugins to make the editing process more streamlined,

The question arises how we as artists synthesize all this. With the flood of products how do we mats in our true-ness to the craft. While at the same time lifting our selves from the quagmire of going for gear even when the resulting product shows no elevation. It's at these times we need to remember that gear is good and the artist must evolve and stretch himself to. Handle these things rightly. If we are not willing to stretch ourselves we may find our dreams limited too,
