Taking a Break (part 2)
What does taking a break mean? Sometimes it can be deciding that that the DSLR stays at home. So many times we get ourselves into this crutch where we can't see our vision unless we are using all these crutches that we have built over the years. It is good to remember that the tool is just that a instrument to accomplish our vision and there are other tools that can get the job done.
We may decide that a break means using our mind cameras and just taking pictures mentally to forget about all the mechanics of taking the shot is a good way to refresh our love. Just learning to see again without the addition of a viewfinder It can be liberating to not have to worry about how to "capture" the shot but to be free to see the shot in all its creative glory.
Other times we need to get away from the whole image taking process. Just breathe a bit. Spend sometime exercising other creative muscles, like writing , playing music, or enjoying the creativity of others. The important thing is learning the difference between pushing past boundaries and running on empty.
Your inspiration and creativity are drawn from something inside, which mean you have to keep putting things in there. A break can be the right thing to fill you up after an exhausting run of photographing madness.
